This is new to me, although perhaps it has been available for some time. Sprint PCS now offers a "Picture Mail" plan for $5 per month that includes unlimited picture messaging, including airtime.
I've tested Sprint camera phones but I'm not a regular customer, so I don't know if this plan has been available for a long time. I do know you have to call Sprint to order it. You can't order it on the Web site.
Perhaps this is because Sprint really wants you to subscribe to its original $15 per month "PCS Vision Pictures Pack" that not only includes unlimited uploading and downloading of photos but also includes unlimited Web browsing from a handset (not from your computer).
A very good deal
I noted previously that the PCS Vision Pictures Pack was a good deal if you wanted both picture messaging and Web browsing. But I also noted it probably was too expensive for many people who just wanted to send and receive photos.
By offering a $5 a month plan without any extra charges, Sprint has made a smart move to help increase its mass market for camera phones.
By the way, if you're interested in Sprint's 1xRTT data service and how it compares to Verizon Wireless' faster 1xEV-DO service, you might want to look at an article I posted earlier this morning on my Reiter's Wireless Data Web Log.
Something I thought you might be interested in....a comparasion of 16 different camera phone models under what I assume are identical lighting conditions.

Not surprisingly, the Sharp GX20 looks like it is the best of those compared. For the money, I think the Motorola E365 and the C550 also look pretty good.
