boston.com solicits camera phone photos of New England Patriots parade

Thanks to David Haywood I learned that boston.com is seeking camera phone photos of today's parade celebrating the victory of the New England Patriots at Sunday's Super Bowl.

There's not much information about it, but the home page of boston.com says, "Going to the parade? Bring your camera phone and e-mail pictures to pats@boston.com. We'll put the best shots online.

Soon, this will be commonplace

Curently, this is news. Newspapers that ask for camera phone photos are still relatively rare. But it's only a matter of time before this become commonplace as many publications solicit and publish camera phone photos -- and camcorder phone videos -- as a matter of course.

The big picture is how this will change journalism and information distribution. For the better.
