I now received a Google News alert on my BlackBerry about what I just posted: Kodak entering the European camera phone environment.
By using my Treo 600 (I usually have at least two wireless devices with me, and the SPOT watch makes three) to surf the Web for Kodak information I found the story on boston.com.
Boston.com says Kodak on Monday at the huge 3GSM world congress in Cannes will announce its plans for entering the camera phone services arena in Europe.
Photo storage printing and kiosks
Kodak will offer online photo storage and printing for camera phone users (as I previously posted) as well as wireless-enabling its Picture Maker printing kiosks so camera phone subscribers can upload photos to the kiosks via infrared or Bluetooth.
Kodak's services will be available in Europe in May in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and the U.K.
The boston.com article doesn't say what European cellular operators will be working with Kodak. However, the article quotes Kodak's senior vice president as saying the company is in "advanced discussions" with Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone.
Three wireless devices for these entries
This entry, like the previous one, is posted from my BlackBerry. The BlackBerry with its superior keyboard is my favorite handheld wireless device for entering text, and is usable for downloading Web pages.
The Treo, with its color screen is far better (for a handheld wireless device) for surfing the Web. The SPOT watch is good for quick, "glanceable" alerts -- just as Microsoft has been saying.
