CVS Pharmacy is offering 10 free prints from its Kodak Picture Maker kiosks (see above) from camera phones. The coupon (see below) is available on CVS' Web site and is good for 4" x 6" prints, worth up to $2.90 (based upon $.29 per print), if you have the company's ExtraCare Card.
As I wrote on Friday, Dr. Bill Koslosky used one of these new infrared-enabled Picture Maker kiosks and printed some surprisingly good photos from his Treo 600. Hey Bill -- go to the CVS site and get the free coupon!
I don't know whether the kiosks support Bluetooth (I believe they are supposed to; the Treo 600 doesn't have it) but I'll have to check, and I assume they also support memory cards. But if you have infrared, the fun is trying to see if it will work!
Discounted Nokia camera phones
Nokia, in partnership with CVS, is offering a $150 rebate when you purchase selected Nokia camera phones from T-Mobile, AT&T Wireless and Cingular. With T-Mobile, you can get $50 back with the purchase of a Nokia 3650. With Cingular, the 3600 is $129.99 with the rebate.
With AT&T, the Nokia 3620 -- an updated version, that you should consider getting instead of the older 3650 -- is $149.99. Also, make sure check with cellular operators for other deals on camera phones.
The $150 rebate is good until April 30, 2004.
My chore
My chore for today, I think, is to figure out how my Treo 600's infrared works (I tried using it once and couldn't get it to download) and then to find a CVS in my neighborhood that has the infrared-enabled kiosk.
I'll report back on the quality of the prints.
Tha ad copy says..
"with your Bluetooth or infrared enabled camera", so I presume that the kiosks are Bluetooth capable. In general, these prints generally turn out better than I would expect.....Tom
