Snapfish, a well known Web-based film processing company, today announced it has opened a "retail concept store" in Alexandria, Va., according to a press release.
Users may order prints online in their home or office and pick up the prints at the store. Snapfish says its store "will demonstrate to retailers around the country and the world how online services, delivered by a premier photo service provider like Snapfish, can increase sales and profits for existing photo retail businesses."
The store was opened in cooperation with District Photo and is part of the Kodak Image Center program. Since the store features Kodak PictureMaker kiosks, camera phone users may upload photos via infrared or Bluetooth or inset a memory card into the kiosk.
