Take a photo, get advice from MyFoodPhone nutritionists
From Myron Kassaraba of MJK Partners, who is attending a telemedicine conference, I learned of MyFoodPhone.com (see below) that provides advice to consumers based in part upon the photos of food sent via a Sprint PCS camera phone.
Here's what MyFoodPhone says it does:
"MyFoodPhone is a technology company that designs and develops monitoring and coaching tools for the health care and fitness industries. Our products and services enable personalized, close-contact programs for managing and improving chronic conditions such as overweight/obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and more."Our flagship offering is MyFoodPhone™, a B2B cellphone and Web-based subscription service that enables nutritionists and dieticians to monitor client food intake and provide personalized feedback.
"MyFoodPhone™ also makes it possible to log and track biometric data such weight, BMI, waist-to-hip ratio, glucose levels, and blood pressure."
Advice, news
Users transmit photos of their meals to MyFoodPhone and receive personal nutrition recommendations as well as general advice and news.
Nutritionists and dieticians can offer the service under their own brand.
MyPhonePhone says, "Clients find it easy to incorporate video-enabled cell-phones into busy lifestyles. You’ll have greater insight into their food preferences and portion sizes. With MyFoodPhone, nutrition professionals have a powerful new tool for a single patient or an entire client base."
